INSTRUCTOR PREPARATION COURSE

The purpose of the Instructor Preparation Course is to train individual who would like to become driving instructor or become owner/operator of a driving school in Utah. If you have a passion to teach people how to drive, this course is for you and it is design to prepare you to be certified by the State of Utah. Teaching new drivers how to drive is a very enjoyable and rewarding career. Becoming a driving instructor gives you the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives every day.

Requirements

           

1.   Have a valid Utah driver license with 3 year driving experience

2.   Be at least twenty one years of age

3.   Have a clean driving record

4.   Have a clean criminal background

5.  Have at least a High School Diploma or GED

 

Course Objectives

After successful completion of this course you will be able to:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of a driving school

• Teach new drivers how to drive

• Teach driver education in classroom setting

• Keep required students records and accounting

• This course take between 3 to 6 months to complete depending on the amount of time devoted to it.

• It includes demonstrations and practical in-vehicle coaching techniques

• You'll have an in-depth knowledge of Utah's driver licensing system, rules of the road, and an overview of the legal aspects governing the driver training industry.

• You will participate in a classroom based instructor training at our head office. This includes in-class teaching, and practical behind-the-wheel training.

   

  To graduate from the Instructor Preparation Course student must:

   

1. Complete all training both in classroom and behind-the-wheel, and all assignments in the workbook

2. Watch all related videos

3. Complete end of each class tests

4. Pass a final test to be administered at the school classroom with a minimum of 80%

5. Return all course materials - workbook, DVDs, and all answer sheets.
