
Who Needs a Road Test in Utah?
A road test is required for individuals who:

Are applying for their first Utah driver’s license.
✔️
Have a learner’s permit and meet the state’s licensing requirements
✔️
Need to reinstate a suspended or expired license.
✔️
Are new residents transferring a license from another country (some exceptions
apply).
Required Documents for the Road Test
To take your road test in Utah, you must bring the
following:

A valid Utah learner’s permit.

Proof of identity
📌
Proof of vehicle insurance (if using your own vehicle).
We provide the test vehicle, so you don’t have to worry
about bringing your own!
Accepted Forms of ID
When taking your road test, you must present one of the
following:

A Utah-issued learner’s permit or government-issued ID.

An original birth certificate (if you do not have a permit).

A valid foreign passport with visa (for non-U.S. residents).

How to Schedule Your Road Test

We supply a clean, well-maintained vehicle for your test.

Road Test Scores: After passing the test, you will receive your score in
a sealed envelope. Do not open it! It must be submitted as-is to
the Utah Driver License Division.

If you fail the road test: You must wait 24 hours before
attempting another test.
